Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr I. Alizadeh / The Israeli Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister for Strategic Planning, the Chairman of the Our Home Israel Party, Avigdor Liberman, will pay an official visit to Azerbaijan on 15 August. The purpose of the visit is to become familiar with Azerbaijan and to develop relations between the countries.
The Deputy Prime Minister will be accompanied by a MP of Knesset (Israeli Parliament), the Director of Azerbaijani-Israeli International Association, Josef Shagal.
The Israeli delegation will visit the grave of the Azerbaijani ex-president Heydar Aliyev in the Cemetery of Honours. The itinerary will include meetings with the Azerbaijani President, Ilham Aliyev, the Prime Minister Artur Rasizadeh and the Spokesman of the Azerbaijani Parliament, Ogtay Asadov. Furthermore, the meetings between the Israeli Prime Minister and the administration of the State Committee on Work with Azerbaijanis Residing Abroad, and the Economic Development Ministry are planned. The guests will participate at the opening ceremony of the European Culture Centre and will meet the representatives of the Jewish community in the Gyrmyzy settlement of Azerbaijani Guba region. The visit concludes on 18 August.
That is Liberman's first visit to Azerbaijan.
