Stephanie Rice of Australia beat Zimbabwe's Kirsty Coventry in a dramatic finish to claim Olympic gold in the women's 200 metres medley swim race in world record time on Wednesday, the dpa reported.
Rice, who also defeated Coventry for 400m medley gold afew days ago, clocked 2 minutes 8.45 seconds. Coventry got silver in 2:08.59 which was also faster than Rice' previous world record 2:08.92 from March. Natalie Coughlin of the US took bronze in 2:10.34 minutes.
