On Oct. 8, a delegation consisting of eight prominent Iranian filmmakers and actors left for the United States, where they will take part in events dedicated to the theme of the Iranian cinema in America. Two members of the delegation, including Director Mujtaba Mirtahmasib and Actress Fatemeh Motemidaryan were not allowed making this trip to the United States, Mehr news agency reported.
"First, our passports have been checked. And then the staff of airport security by showing us the decision to prohibit us from leaving the country, not let us fly to the U.S. with the rest of the delegation," said Mirtahmasib.
Mirtahmasib said its reasons were not explained to them.
The event to be supported by the American Oskar Academy and program "close and personal" Archive of UCLA TV and radio will demonstrate eight Iranian films, which will provide information on the directors of these films.
In 2008, upon the invitation of the Iranian "Home Movies", a 8-member delegation of the United States visited Tehran. They met with Iranian filmmakers, visited several cities in Iran, including Isfahan and Shiraz.
