The Azerbaijani State Migration Service deported 1,111 foreigners illegally residing in the country in August.

The Migration Service employees have carried out relevant activities to identify and prevent illegal migration, cases of violation of the rules of temporary and permanent residence of foreigners and stateless persons in Azerbaijan, the State Migration Service told Trend.

As a result of the measures taken in August, 1,322 foreign nationals were found violating the requirements of administrative law.

Through fines, the residence of 211 people was legalized. The decision was made to deport 873 foreigners within 48 hours and to administratively expel 238 foreigners based on state legislation, the service reported.

Last month, the service received 3,906 appeals from the foreigners and stateless persons in connection with the extension of stay in the country, issuance of a permit for permanent and temporary accommodation, admission to citizenship, restoring and denial of citizenship, as well as the definition of citizenship and refugee status, issuance and extension of individual work permit.

The service has reviewed each complaint in accordance with the laws of the country and made the appropriate decision.
