Several documents were signed within the 61st session of the WHO Regional Committee for Europe.

One of the documents is of great importance in terms of combating noninfectious chronic diseases, WHO Regional Committee for Europe Chairman Zsuzsanna Jakab told media.
She said that the committee members unanimously adopted a plan of action to combat noninfectious chronic diseases. The document, called the Baku Declaration, covers the period up to 2020.

"Another important document concerns the struggle with alcohol in Europe," she said. "First of all, I would like to say that the situation with alcoholic beverages in Azerbaijan is satisfactory, unlike in Europe. It is known that alcoholic beverages are within the second risk group."

Another adopted document is associated with activity against antibiotic-resistant forms, she said.

The adopted documents cover the period between 2011 and 2020, she said.
