The Caucasian Muslims Office believes that conducting classes on religion at secondary schools is important.
The inclusion of religion in the curriculum is crucial, the Caucasian Muslims Office deputy chairman Haji Sabir Hasanli told press on Thursday.
He said that secondary schools of 19 Russian regions maintain religion lessons and also train personnel to teach the subject.
"This type of experiment can be carried out in a Baku school," he said. "I think these lessons can be useful. I believe that sooner or later Azerbaijan will take steps to realize this direction."
"The matter rests in informing children about religion, Islam, and other areas of faith," he said.
