Azerbaijani Education Minister Misir Mardanov will visit Italy on June 2-9. He said this at a meeting with Italian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mario Baldi, the website of Ministry of Education reported.
Mardanov said relations between universities of both countries are mainly developed and it's necessary to expand other relations in education.
He touched upon the issue of studying Italian language in Azerbaijan and noted that he would like to know the opinion of a guest on this topic.
The Minister also noted that under the "State Program for Education of Azerbaijani youth in foreign countries in 2007-2015" four Azerbaijani students get education in Italy. The Minister noted that this figure is too low and it's necessary to carry out relevant work in this direction.
Ambassador Baldi said there are old and influential universities in Italy. With regard to teaching Italian in Azerbaijan, he said that for start teaching the Italian language is possible in secondary schools in Azerbaijan. He also said that the Azerbaijani students in Italy will be given more attention.
