BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 17. Representatives from 20 regions of Azerbaijan participate in the 1st international "Challenge" in the gymnastic discipline "Gymnastics for All" along with athletes from Baku, Secretary General of the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation (AGF) Nurlana Mammadzade told journalists, Trend reports.
According to Nurlana Mammadzade, it is gratifying that among the participants of the international "Challenge" there are representatives of the "Golden Age" category.
"Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation develops nine gymnastic disciplines, one of them is "Gymnastics for All". For the first time, Azerbaijani gymnasts took part in this form at the 15th World Gymnastics in Helsinki in 2015. With participation in this event, the foundation of the discipline "Gymnastics for All" was laid in Azerbaijan. After that, the Azerbaijani national team annually takes part in the events held by the European Gymnastics and the International Gymnastics Federation. Last year we held a national festival in Baku in the discipline "Gymnastics for All", and this year we are hosting an international event where, along with teams from Azerbaijan, representatives of Georgia and Lithuania perform," she said.
The 1st Baku International "Challenge" in "Gymnastics for All", dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, is being held in the capital of Azerbaijan on June 17-18.
