BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 16. The meeting with the Azerbaijani community living in Stuttgart and neighboring cities of Germany has been held, Trend reports via Azerbaijan's State Committee for Work with Diaspora.
According to the information, the meeting kicked off with the stirring strains of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, followed by a moment of silence to honor the brave souls who laid down their lives for the Motherland's territorial integrity.
The meeting, steered by Gunay Mirzayeva, the Head of the Azerbaijan Cultural Center in Germany, saw Nuran Abdullayev take the floor to shed light on the goings-on of the Alliance of Azerbaijanis of Germany, which he leads.
Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Diaspora Fuad Muradov talked of our country's Diaspora policy and emphasized that this policy, founded by National Leader Heydar Aliyev, is successfully continued by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. Extensive information was presented at the meeting on the activities of the State Committee, “Azerbaijani Houses” abroad, coordination councils, Sunday schools, summer camps for Diaspora youth, and other major projects.
Then video clips reflecting the activities of the Azerbaijani Diaspora and Azerbaijan's victory in the second Karabakh War were demonstrated.
In her speech, Gunay Mirzayeva informed about the activities of the Center she heads and talked of the invaluable services of Azerbaijan's First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva in promoting Azerbaijani culture in the world.
Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijan Cultural Center in Germany, Italian composer and organizer of cultural events Francesco Maggio, in his speech, expressed his love for Azerbaijan, talked of his trip to Azerbaijan and his unforgettable memories.
The descendant of Iravan Khan, engineer Amir Ali Sardari, made an excursion to the history of Iravan and thanked the Azerbaijani state for taking care of Azerbaijanis living abroad today.
Community member, musician Nigar Sultanova expressed her proposals for further expansion of the community's activities.
The meeting continued with an interesting exchange of views and answers to questions.
The community members positively assessed the activity of Diaspora organizations operating in Germany, noted the invaluable contribution of such meetings to strengthening the solidarity of Azerbaijanis abroad, and expressed wishes for the opening of the “Azerbaijan House” in Stuttgart.
The meeting ended with a cultural program.
