BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 14. On October 12, YARAT Contemporary Art Space hosted Museum Night 2024, inviting art enthusiasts to explore the theme of communication in various forms. This year’s event focused on how we express our thoughts, emotions, and challenges, continuing from last year’s theme of understanding our inner world and embracing our surroundings.
A series of events unfolded throughout the night. First, on the 1st floor of the YARAT Centre, Ilhama Babayeva’s sound therapy session allowed participants to discover the healing power of sound, complemented by the use of singing bowls, vocal yoga, and mantra performances.
On the 2nd floor of YARAT, Saint Twins Detective presented the game “The Creator from the Alleyways,” offering participants an exciting detective adventure set in the atmosphere of 1950s America. Another significant highlight of the night was Theater O2’s interactive performance, “5”, which explored the limitations of social networks and emphasized the importance of face-to-face communication.
At the Museum of Azerbaijani Painting of the 20th-21st Centuries, attendees of talented artist Leyla Gabulova’s master class, “Unspoken Narratives,” created artworks by exploring emotions from various perspectives. On the 2nd floor of the same venue, guests were captivated by the “XITAB” performance, a fusion of electronic music, tar, and ghazal, blending traditional and contemporary art, presented by DEWAR, Shahriyar Imanov, Punhan Azim, and Rashad Rayyan.
Museum Night 2024 concluded with live performances by Azerbaijani rap artists Okaber and Neocortex, held outdoors near Baku Boulevard (next to the Azerbaijan Rowing and Canoe Federation). Their performances underscored the powerful role that rhythm and lyrics play in shaping emotional communication.
