Ministry of Education starts establishing a workgroup to handle the Strategy of development of professional-technical and middle special education. Trend reports quoting Minister of education Misir Mardanov, there will be representatives of Ministry of Education, Agriculture, Industry and Power engineering, Labor and Social Security on the commission.
The primary objective of this strategy is to integrate professional lycees, schools and middle special schools in order to optimize professional-technical education. Minister said also State Program for development of professional-technical education in Azerbaijan had been submitted to the government. Professional-technical education system today is in ruins and it will make a big deal to recover it. Amounts issued from state budget for this purpose grow year by year. In 2005, AZN 4.6 mln have been issued for this sphere and in 2006 these expenses are estimated at AZN 9.7mln.
Alongside, under TACISs program that permission has been issued on granting support in development of professional-technical curriculum and specialties hierarchy. Asian Development Bank is going to develop a Main education project with inclusion of components on staff potential strengthening. USAID and German Society for Technical Assistance (GTZ) are also concerned in helping in development of professional-technical education system.
