Azerbaijani Press Council to Receive Letters

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S.Ilhamgizi / The Press Council of Azerbaijan received more than 142 letters over the last four months.

The number of oral appeals received by the council comprised of 453. The letters mainly include complaints on incompatible attitude towards journalists.

Nine articles were published in accordance with appeals received by the Commission of the Council

Decrees published in the Fakt, the Elchi, the Nakhchivan, 24 hours, the Sanat newspapers and the Mozalan, the Upravleniye and Bukhacheta magazines contain facts of violation of law, rules of professional ethics of journalists.

The council itself is not satisfied with ANS channel.

The Council considered that on 3 May, International Freedom of Speech Day, the cast Point of View (Nazar Nogtesi) highlighted a number of insulting statements to the address of separate members of the Council and therefore, the Council intends to send a letter to the Head of TV.
