Azerbaijan sees decline in trade turnover with US

Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and the US totaled over $295.5 million from January through July 2021, which is almost 40 percent, or $178.5 million less compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports citing the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan.

As reported, in the first 7 months of 2020, trade turnover between the two countries was $474 million.

Azerbaijani exports to the US during this period amounted to $33.7 million (an increase of 2.5 times on annual basis), and imports from the US - $261.7 million (a decrease of 43.7 percent), the report said.

According to the SCC, the share of exports of non-oil products to the US amounted to 0.3 percent of the total Azerbaijani exports of non-oil products, and imports - 4.16 percent.

Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover approached $17.7 billion. Of these, exports accounted for nearly $11.4 billion (64.4 percent), imports - $6.3 billion (35.6 percent).

The balance of foreign trade turnover of Azerbaijan, remaining positive, surged by 57.7 percent on annual basis - up to about 5.1 billion manat ($3 billion).
