BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 10. Industrial enterprises and individual entrepreneurs in Azerbaijan produced goods worth 39.8 billion manat ($23.4 billion) from January through July 2023, which is 1.6 percent less than in the same period last year, Trend reports.
According to the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan, production in the oil and gas sector decreased by 2.4 percent during the reporting period of 2023, and in the non-oil sector it increased by 6.5 percent compared to the same period in 2022.
In addition, a total of 69.1 percent of industrial output accounted for the mining sector, 25.7 percent - for the manufacturing industry, 4.4 percent - for the production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam, 0.8 percent - for the water supply, waste treatment and recycling sector.
In addition, commercial oil production in Azerbaijan decreased by 7.7 percent from January through July 2023, and commercial gas production increased by 3.3 percent compared to the same period in 2022.
Wood processing and production of wood goods doubled in the manufacturing sector, the production of computer, electronic and optical products - by 43 percent, the production of cars, trailers and semi-trailers - by 38.7 percent, the production of printing products - by 34.3 percent, the production of paper and cardboard - by 31.8 percent, beverage production - by 26 percent.
Production of finished metal products accounted for 24.1 percent, production of machinery and equipment - 20 percent, production of rubber and plastics of mass production - 19.5 percent, production of finished metal products - 19.1 percent, production of petroleum products - 15.9 percent, food production - 11.7 percent, production of tobacco products - 10 percent, production of chemical industry products - 3.6 percent, furniture production - 2.5 percent.
According to the State Statistics Committee, the production of electrical equipment decreased by 0.2 percent, the production of pharmaceutical products - by 13.9 percent, the production of other vehicles - by 17 percent, the production of leather and leather goods, shoes - by 19.1 percent, the production of clothing - by 23.4 percent, the production of other industrial products - by 29.3 percent, the production of metallurgical product industry - by 31.1 percent, installation and repair of machinery and equipment - by 36.1 percent.
In general, the volume of production in the sector of generation, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam increased by 1.7 percent in 2023, and in the sector of water supply, waste treatment and recycling - by 16.7 percent compared to 2022.
