New Suspension Bridge to Be Operated in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku, 25 August / Trend corr. E.Ismayilov, E.Guliyev / The first suspension bridge in Azerbaijan is expected to be put into operation over Talachay River in the Zagatala region of Azerbaijan in September. This was said by Movlud Gahramanov, Chief of the Road Operation Department 17 in Zagatala.

Bridge's width is 11 metres and length - 170 metres. Azaryolservice OJSC is the customer and Teksnikaservice - executive.

"The new bridge is expected to be put into operation in September," Gahramanov said.

Project's initial cost touched AZN2mln. However, the cost of the project climbed up twice due to additional expenditure.

The bridge is being contracted mainly by local specialists, and the concrete construction has been produced in Baku Deep Water Foundations plant named Heydar Aliyev.

Construction of the suspension bridge on the Shaki-Zagatala road was launched in the end of 2007.

Zagatala region is located on 418km of Baku.
