All Chinese industrial products exported to Egypt should have pre-shipment inspection certificates issued by China's quality supervisor, said the State Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine here Tuesday, Xinhua reported.
According to the memorandum of understanding regarding the pre-shipment inspection of Chinese-exported industrial products signed by China and Egypt on March this year, the pre-shipment inspections will start on July 1.
It makes Egypt the third country in Africa that requires such inspections, following Sierra Leone and Ethiopia.
Importers would need to present the pre-shipment inspection certificate issued by the Entry and Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau to the Egyptian Administration of Import and Export, as important evidence for Egyptian Customs to check and clear the cargo.
The inspected aspects would include quality, quantity, security, hygiene, environmental impact of the cargo.
