The first carpet house of Iran will be established in the city of Takab, West Azarbaijan Province, an official with the province's commerce department said on Tuesday.
Mehr news agency quoted Khalil Nouri as saying that the project is aimed at coordinating the production, sale, and exportation of hand-woven carpets as well as offering related education, research, information dissemination, and consultation services in an integrated format.
Nouri said the duties of the house will be to support hand-woven carpet sellers and exporters by creating a price-setting committee, organizing exhibitions and festivals, and holding training courses for weavers, merchants and designers.
