Reconstruction of water supply and sanitation of one of Azerbaijani cities begins (PHOTO)

National Water Operator - JSC Azersu officially launched the project of reconstruction of water supply and sewerage of Saatli city on Wednesday, the company reported.
These works are carried out in the frame of the national project to improve services for water supply and sanitation services, funded jointly by the World Bank and the Government of Azerbaijan.
"Eighty liters of water per second will be supplied through the new main line, which will be laid from the complex on water purification of Kura to the city and surrounding villages. Currently the population of Saatli receives water from the river Araz" president Azersu Korkmaz Huseynov said at the foundation laying ceremony.
The project will improve services for thorough water supply and sanitation of 38 531 citizens, 21 312 of whom are inhabitants of Saatli.
Work under the project, which involves improving water supply services and sanitation in three areas (Gabala, Sabirabad, Shamakhi), scheduled for completion by the end of the first quarter of 2014.
