Kazakh KazTemirTrans and Russian RusAgroTrans have agreed on creation of a joint grain transportation company, RusAgroTrans Director General Konstantin Zassov told Russian newspaper Kommersant.
"We have finally agreed to establish the joint venture with KazTemirTrans company," Zassov said.
According to RusAgroTrans' Director General, the agrarian seasons do not coincide in Kazakhstan and Russia. Thus, the two countries will be able to use the same grain carriers by turn. Moreover, Kazakhstan exporters are interested in grain export via Russian ports.
The joint venture will be owned on equal terms and start working in this season, he said.
Initially the joint venture will receive some thousands grain carriers for rent from KazTemirTrans and RusAgroTrans. Some time later the assets will be transferred to the authorized capital of the company.
