Iran's aluminum ingot output stood at 149,307 tons in the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year, which began on March 21, the IRNA News Agency reported.

The official highlighted that Iran's ranking in production of aluminum has risen four steps since 2005 to stand at number 22 in the world aluminum output.

Ja'fari stressed that Iran plans to book the 14th rank in the global aluminum production by the end of the 5th Economic Development Plan (2010-2015).
