The Azerbaijani metallurgy industry and the enterprises produced goods and rendered services in the amount of 296 million AZN in January-September 2014, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee said on the results of the 9 months of 2014.
The official exchange rate is 0.7843 AZN/USD on Oct. 16.
The production volume of the metallurgy industry decreased by 4 percent, while the production of finished products increased by 8.8 percent.
Cast-iron production in the country amounted to 1.017.9 metric tons in January-September, which is 33.1 percent less than in the same period of 2013. During the reported period, steel pipes were made in the amount of 24,400 metric tons, which is 54.7 percent less than in January-September 2013.
The reinforcement production volume amounted to 159,100 metric tons in the country during this period which is 11.9 percent less than in the same period of last year.
In January-August 2014, the volume of export of iron pipes made up 21.947.8 metric tons (over $22.4 million) which is 45.3 percent less (in monetary terms - 42 percent less) compared to the same index of 2013.
