Output of metals, alloys increase in Kazakhstan

Production of steel, copper, aluminium and other metals and alloys increased in H1 2016 in Kazakhstan, said the country’s Statistics Committee.

The output of impure steel rose by 5.6 percent – to 2.06 million tons in January-June 2016 compared to the same period of 2015, flat rolled metal – by 9.7 percent to 1.4 million tons, raw zinc – by 1.4 percent to 162,480 tons, refined raw copper – by 7.5 percent to 199,820 tons, raw aluminium and aluminium oxide – by 5.6 percent to 870,790 tons, ferroalloy – by 0.2 percent to 867,420 tons.

Production of iron ore decreased by 28.1 percent to 17.18 million tons in H1 2016 in Kazakhstan compared to the same period of 2015. The country’s copper ore output increased by more than twice – to 34.63 million tons during the period.
