By Azad Hasanli – Trend:

Turkish entrepreneurs in some cases try to avoid paying taxes on the supply of goods to Azerbaijan, said Chairman of Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee Aydin Aliyev.

He made the remarks at a meeting with Turkish entrepreneurs in Baku July 18.

The meeting is also attended by Turkey’s Minister of Customs and Trade Bulent Tufenkci.

Aliyev noted that in some cases, entrepreneurs resort to a double invoice in order to avoid paying taxes.

The chairman appealed to Turkish entrepreneurs with a request not to admit such cases.

Aliyev noted that all conditions are created for those who want to invest in the Azerbaijani economy or to supply their goods to the country.

According to Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee, the country’s trade turnover with Turkey amounted to $1.2 billion in 1H17 which exceeds the result of 1H16 by 1.73 times.

About $615.5 million out of this amount accounted for the export (specific weight is 11.68 percent in total volume of export operations), while $574.2 million (with a specific weight of 16.84 percent) accounted for import.
