Kazakhstan exchanges forms for cargo transportation with 41 countries

The Transport Committee of the Investments and Development Ministry of Kazakhstan exchanged almost 126,000 forms of permits for transportation with 41 states as of Feb. 19, the ministry said in a message.

In 2017, the Transport Committee exchanged 150,000 forms of permits for international trucking with 42 countries.

Of these, 122,000 forms are universal permits, the remaining 28,000 are permits for the transport of goods to/from third countries.

More than 109,000 foreign permission forms were issued to Kazakh carriers (97,000 in 2016), 93 percent of them were used.

In 2017, the volume of cargo transportation between Kazakhstan and other countries amounted to 8.8 million tons, the total volume of transit by road was 2.1 million tons. This is higher than in 2016 by 4 percent or 355,500 tons.

To date, the country has about 3,500 international carriers with a 17,000 vehicle fleet.

In 2018, Kazakhstan established a quota for the exchange of permit forms with 40 countries.
