Kazakhstan exported more than 166,000 tons of grain through the port of Aktau in January-February 2018, Kazakh media outlets reported.
According to the Committee of Statistics of the Ministry of Economy of Kazakhstan, the gross harvest of barley in the country amounted to 3.3 million tons in 2017, which is 2.3 percent more compared to the same period of the previous year, and a historical maximum for the production of this crop in Kazakhstan.
Gross harvest of wheat in 2017 amounted to 14.8 million tons, which is only 1.2 percent inferior to the indicator a year earlier. At the same time, the average yield of Kazakh wheat in 2017 reached 12.4 c/ha, exceeding by 16 percent the average indicator for the last 5 years.
In total, Kazakhstan produced 20.6 million tons of grain and leguminous crops at a yield of 13.4 c/ha in 2017, which is almost the same result as the season-2016.
