Baku, Azerbaijan, May 17
By Azad Hasanli – Trend:
Azerbaijan’s AtaBank customers will be able to pay for their purchases by using only a smartphone soon, rather than payment cards, Etibar Babashli, First Deputy Chairman of AtaBank’s Board, said.
Babashli made the remarks in Baku May 17 at the press-conference on the presentation of AtaNet mobile application.
Presently, the clients of the bank who downloaded AtaNet app receive a virtual card. Its functionality is planned to be expanded in the future.
So, the mobile application with this card will read the QR-code on the bill and the amount for the purchases will be deducted from the card. Thus, there will be no need to use cards for making payment through POS-terminals.
Functioning since 1993, AtaBank is a hi-tech universal bank from Azerbaijan with hundred percent local capital. The bank renders a full range of services to corporate and private clients through 31 affiliates and branches in Baku and regions of the country.
