Uzavtosanoat JSC is planning to increase production of cars in Uzbekistan to 220,000-230,000 units per year, Uzbek mass media reported citing Chairman of the Board of Uzavtosanoat Umidjan Salimov as saying at a press conference in Tashkent.
The country produced 140,240 cars in 2017.
Salimov also said that Uzavtosanoat is planning to completely revamp the system of car sales in Uzbekistan.
According to him, the main goal is to create a system when the customer immediately picks up the car after payment.
Uzavtosanoat will also revise work of car dealers based on experience of foreign countries. It is planned that dealers will buy cars directly from the factory and sell to customers.
Salimov added that dealers are currently simply selling cars to clients, earning their margin from sales.
