The new edition of the tax code of Uzbekistan will be adopted by July 1, 2019, Trend reports on Dec. 25 referring to Uzbek media.
The corresponding statement was made by Deputy Chairman of the State Tax Committee Olimjon Faiziboyev.
“Given the complexity of the transition, lots of existing questions, various interests of taxpayers, we decided to move the dates to July 1, so that businessmen and taxpayers wouldn’t be in a limbo for half a year. There many changes to the current tax code,” he noted.
Back in November, the Finance Ministry published a draft of the revised tax code for public discussion. Two days later, another draft of the new code, developed by the National Project Management Agency under the President of Uzbekistan, was published.
“The concept of tax reform is currently being introduced. New ideas and suggestions for improvement may arise in the course of implementation. We do not want to approve the tax code now, and then change it again. Our international consultants advised us to implement it next year,” First Deputy Finance Minister Akhadbek Haydarov said.
The president of Uzbekistan signed the law on amendments to the current tax code on Dec. 24.
