Uzbekistan forms Economic Council for roadmap implementation

Uzbekistan has formed the Economic Council for the implementation of the roadmap of the country's reforms for 2019-2021, Trend reports with reference to the Uzbek media.

The Council was established by the decree of the President of Uzbekistan "On additional measures to ensure the further development of the economy and improve the efficiency of the economic policy".

Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov headed the Economic Council, which will analyze and identify the problems and risks that hinder the implementation of socio-economic reforms, as well as prepare proposals for reforms in the socio-economic sphere.

The Council will also discuss draft laws and regulations to be developed during the implementation of the roadmap, coordinate the activities of the responsible ministries and agencies, as well as carry out systematic monitoring and control over the implementation of the roadmap.

This year, the Economic Council will prepare strategies for reforming enterprises with state share, developing the national digital economy, as well as a concept for the socio-economic development of Uzbekistan until 2030 and a concept for agriculture development. A concept of strengthening the monetary policy and ensuring price stability will also be developed.

In addition, an international expert group of foreign experts involved in the elaboration of the roadmap events will be formed under the Economic Council.
