By Rufiz Hafizoglu - Trend:
The process of land acquisition has begun in Turkey as part of the construction of a highway between the cities of Ankara and Nigde, Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend.
According to the information, this process is also underway in Turkey’s Aksaray Province, where the highway will also be laid.
The ministry noted that the land acquisition as part of the construction of the main road between Ankara and Nigde was to begin in October 2018, but was suspended for a number of reasons.
The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend earlier that the new highway between Ankara and Nigde will be commissioned in 2020. The total length of the new road will be 330 kilometers.
"The total cost of the project makes up 1.5 billion euros," the ministry said.
According to the ministry, 5 viaducts, 77 above-ground crossings and 34 bridges have been built during the construction of the new road. "The construction of the new highway facilitates the growth of freight traffic within the country," the ministry added.
