Baku Steel Company LLC exported $15.3 million worth products from Azerbaijan in the first 7 months of 2020, Trend reports citing the ‘Export Review’ of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication.
According to the center, the export of products of the company decreased by 26.8 percent or $4.1 million.
At the end of 2019, the company exported products worth $28 million, which is 2.04 times less than in 2018.
Baku Steel Company is the largest metallurgical company in the Caucasus, playing a significant role in the country's economy. It uses a Siemens VAI steel-melting furnace with a total annual production capacity of 550,000 tons that meets all modern standards and is second to none in the CIS countries, Turkey and Iran. Furthermore, the company has been supplied with three state-of-the-art 3.5 MW gas oxygen burners.
The total production capacity of the enterprise for steel production has been brought up to 1.1 million tons per year.
The company exports its products to Russia, Georgia, and other countries, and cooperates with world-renowned companies, such as Siemens VAI, Demora, Danieli, Vezzani, Air Liquide, CVS, and others. BSC is also one of the largest taxpayers in the country's non-oil sector.
