The number of licenses issued for the launch of industrial enterprises in Iran increased by 20 percent, during the first two months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through May 21, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, the Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran Saeed Zarandi said, Trend reports citing the ministry.
Zarandi noted that a total of 919 manufacturing enterprises were licensed to be launched in Iran within the two months.
“Also, the licenses were issued for the exploration of 138 mines in the mining sector over the mentioned period. This is an increase of 8 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year,” he added.
The deputy minister said that moreover, Iran has seen an increase in the production of 23 out of 28 important products in the industrial sector. As well as, there was an increase in the production of 9 out of 11 strategic products in the mining sector.
According to him, Iran manufactured more than 608,000 various household appliances in the first two months of current Iranian year. This is an increase of 31 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
Zarandi emphasized that about 127,000 various passenger cars were manufactured in Iran over the reporting period. The passenger car production increased by 8 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
“Compared to the same period last Iranian year, Iran’s raw steel production increased by 14 percent and amounted to 5 million tons in the first two months, cement production – by 11 percent to 11 million tons, copper production – by 14 percent to 51,000 tons,” the deputy minister noted.
He also stressed that the value of Iran's non-oil exports amounted to $6.3 billion, while the imports to $6.5 billion during the first 2 months of the current Iranian year.
