BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 22. Iran's aluminum ingots output decreased by 0.1 percent in the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2023), compared with the same period last year, Trend reports.
Data from the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) shows that four Iranian aluminum companies produced 367,092 tons of aluminum ingots during 7 months.
In the same period last year, Iran’s aluminum ingot production stood at 367,274 tons.
Over the course of seven months, Iran's South Aluminum Corporation (SALCO) produced 163,942 tons of aluminum ingots; the Iranian Aluminum Company produced 99,090 tons; the Al-Mahdi Aluminum Company produced 82,972 tons; and the Iran Alumina Company produced 21,088 tons.
In the 7th month alone (September 23 through October 22, 2023), the mentioned four companies produced 50,684 tons of aluminum ingots, representing a 3 percent growth compared to 49,183 tons in the same period last year.
Furthermore, Iran Alumina Company produced 136,117 tons of aluminum oxide for 7 months, a decrease of 1.4 percent compared to 138,019 tons at the same time last Iranian year.
Also, Iran Alumina Company produced 327,872 tons of bauxite within 7 months, showing a 1.5-percent increase from 323,079 tons in the same period previous year.
On average, Iran's annual aluminum ingot production capacity is about 700,000 tons.
Meanwhile, 632,166 tons of aluminum ingots were produced by four Iranian aluminum companies over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), which is an increase of 12.9 percent compared to the preceding year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
