ADA Group to Win Up to 5% of Absheron Retail Sale Market by 2009

The share of ADA Group in the retail sale market of the Absheron Peninsula retail sale market is expected to reach 3-5% till 2009, Trend reports. Rafail Hajjiyev, the Chairman of the Board of ADA Group, said that the Company is expected to win the Absheron market in a short-term outlook in accordance with the strategic development plan of ADA Group. But the Company appearing to the regions is not expected to take place. One supermarket has already opened in Sumgayit City, and the partners intend to view the possibility of the Company appearing in other cities and towns of the country in the future.

The Company hopes to open at least 50 supermarkets within the three next years, which will allow opening 2,200 new jobs additionally. Up to date, the Company opened 15 supermarkets branded Almali. Over 600 employees are working in them.

The sale networks are mainly located not in the Centre, since they are considered for a less well-provided strata of the population.

According to Mr. Hajiyev, some $22 mln. have been invested to the establishment of the network of supermarkets called Almali. The further investments will be $43 mln. by 2008. $55-60 mln are expected to be put into this project.
