Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend S.Aliyev / The Head of the Transport Policy and Economy Department of Azerbaijan Transport Ministry, Sadraddin Mammadov, said on 14 March that the South Korean experts got familiarized with the condition of the 502 km long railways via the route of Baku-Boyuk Kesik (border of Georgia) within the project of launching of speed train.
According to him, the Korean specialists inspected the railway and defined the places in which repair work will be implemented in the future.
It needs to reconstruct railways, electricity economy signaling and communications system. In addition, it is necessary to acquire speed locomotives and trains. The transport organizations of Japan, Korea and France are interested in participating in this project.
