Azerbaijan, Baku, May 16 / Trend /

SOCAR (the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) sent the second gas-turbine aggregate within construction of compressor station for pressing out of gas with low pressure in shallow part of Guneshli field developed independently, the company said.

The station is one of the biggest facilities within SOCAR gas program. Its putting into operation will allow reducing volumes of gas emission in atmosphere creating greenhouse effect.

Height of aggregate hits eight meters but weight more than 600 tons.

Station will consist of two aggregates. Each aggregate's capacity hits 2 million cubic meters per day. Total capacity of station will hit 4 million cubic meters of gas per day.

SOCAR realizes construction of station owing to own funds. Cost of necessary infrastructure establishment and realization of this project hits $150 million.

Gas after pressing (increasing of pressure) at this station will be transported to Azerbaijani refinery or national gas transportation system and be delivered to users.

Gas will enter station with 2-2.5 atmosphere pressure but leave with 17 atmosphere pressure. Then this gas will be transported to compressor station N2 at offshore field "Oil Stones" and be pressed out to 55 atmosphere pressure. Afterwards, gas will be transported onshore field.

Installation of 4 additional aggregates completes at compressor station at "Oil Stones". As a result its capacity will increase from 7.4 million cubic meters per day to 10.5 million cubic meters.

Volumes of gas dispersion at Guneshli field vary from 150 to 250 million cubic meters per year, SOCAR ecology department head Azer Aliyev said. This index hits 150 million cubic meters at "Oil Stones".
