The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) launched operations to establish ecological park (biological town) at 9.3 hectares of production areas of Tagiyev's oil and gas production department, SOCAR environmental department said.
The process on fencing the construction area is under completion. It is planned to lay open section to cultivate seedlings in two-hectare-area in October-November, the source said.
It is planned to plant numerous different trees and cultivate of seedlings in the park.
New town will not be envisaged for human dwelling. The company plans to plant trees, bushes and various flowers in the park, vice-president of SOCAR Ecology Department Mukhtar Babayev said.
The company planned to supply the town with gas, electricity and water owing to alternative sources. Gas will be partially supplied owing to associated gas ejected into air to the fields. Town's demand for electricity will be partially provided through the use of solar energy. Water required for irrigation, will be delivered through the purification of groundwater and seawater desalination. The experience of foreign countries and foreign companies will be used in realization of the program within the project, Babayev said earlier.
