Azerbaijan, Baku, May 15 / Trend V. Zhavoronkova/

The crude oil supplier to the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan's (SOCAR) oil refinery in Kyrgyzstan was determined, president of the Kyrgyz Association of Oil Traders Zhumakadyr Akeneev told Trend on Tuesday.

"Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev visited Kazakhstan where he signed an agreement on the construction of a joint oil pipeline from Kazakhstan's Shimkent to Kyrgyzstan," Akeneev said.

He added that Kazakhstan will supply 2 million tons of oil per year.

It is expected that this oil will be processed by SOCAR refinery in Kyrgyzstan, Akeneev mentioned.

"Kyrgyzstan will pay for Kazakh oil itself with other resources such as water, electricity and other," he added.

Akeneev said that Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan will jointly decide where to sell the oil products produced at the refinery.

There is a possibility, that the full volume of products, produced by Azerbaijan's SOCAR refinery will be sold within Kyrgyzstan, he added.

"We will buy the products if their price is acceptable, because the volume of oil products produced at the refinery will meet Kyrgyzstan's demand," Akeneev said.

An agreement on the construction of the oil refinery was reached at a meeting of Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev and SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev on Jan.19. The oil refinery is scheduled to be commissioned in late 2013.
