Successful development well drilled in Kazakh Zhana Makat field

The ZMA-A20 development well in the Zhana Makat Field in Kazakhstan operated by Max Petroleum Plc, encountered hydrocarbons in Necomian and Jurassic sandstone reservoirs, the company reported.

"The ZMA-A20 development well in the Zhana Makat Field has successfully reached a total depth of 924 metres, encountering hydrocarbons in Necomian and Jurassic sandstone reservoirs in line with expectations," the company said.

The Company plans to complete the well and then place it on production as soon as practicable. The Zhanros ZJ-20 rig will now move to drill the ZMA-A22 development well in the Zhana Makat Field.

Max Petroleum Plc is an oil and gas exploration and production company focused on Kazakhstan. The Company holds a 100 percent interest in the Blocks A and E Licence area covering over 12,455 squire kilometers in the highly prolific Pre-Caspian Basin in Western Kazakhstan.
