The Kazakh government has approved the General scheme for the gasification of the country by 2015-2030 years, according to Kazakh Oil and Gas Minister Uzakbai Karabalin.
"By 2030, some 13 regions out of the existing 16 regions will be gasified. The gas consumption will increase from the current 10.9 billion cubic meters to 18 billion cubic meters by 2030," he said.
Today some 10 regions gasified in the republic, according to the minister. Basically all western and southern regions of the country and the southern metropolis Almaty have been gasified
The gasification of the country's will be financed from three sources - the state budget and the budget of the regions, the funding of the national operator and private investments.
"The funding from the national operator for the implementation General Scheme of gasification will be about 162 billion tenge ($ 1 - 183.49 tenge) in the period up to 2030," Karabalin said.
It is planned to allocate 16 to 18 billion tenge annually from the republican and local budgets respectively, the minister said.
