Export of Iranian petrochemical products continues, member of Iran's Petrochemical Employers Association Parviz Sahafzadeh told ILNA, Trend reports.

According to him, the sanctions imposed by the US did not create any problems for the sale of Iran’s petrochemical products.

Sahafzadeh added that the problems with money transfers are also not serious.

He went on to say that there are no problems with Iran’s fertilizer production. However, the prices currently set for the fertilizers render them less available to the consumers.

“Till now, the initial price of the fertilizers was set at 6,600 rials (app. $0.15), and now its price is 14,000 rials (app. $0.33)," he said.

The US imposed sanctions on Iran in November 2018 and subsequently expanded its sanctions list several times.

Officials from the Iranian Agriculture Ministry have recently said that petrochemical companies are unwilling to provide fertilizers at prices approved by the government (since June 22) to the agricultural sector. According to the ministry, fertilizers will be provided to the agricultural sector based on the prices of the commodity exchange. By doing so, the price of fertilizers sold to farmers will increase threefold.
