Azerbaijani gas exports via Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum up in 1Q2020

Azerbaijan exported over 2.9 billion cubic meters of gas via the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline from January through March 2020, which is by 13.1 percent more than in the same period of 2019, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee.

Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline accounted for 34.5 percent of the total volume of transported Azerbaijani gas, rising by 1 percent during a year.

Around 8.6 billion cubic meters of gas was transported via the main pipelines of Azerbaijan from January through March 2020, which is by 10.5 percent more than in the same period of 2019.

The length of the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline is more than 700 kilometers. This gas pipeline transports the gas produced at the Shah Deniz gas condensate field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. The gas is supplied to Georgia and Turkey.
