TEHRAN, Iran, Nov. 22
Trend:
Iran's power plants reservoirs are saving liquid fuel for the winter, said the Managing Director of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC), Trend reports citing IRNA.
In the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2021), about 70 percent of the power plant's fuel reservoirs are full. The supplied winter fuel had a 20 percent decline compared to last Iranian year (started March 20, 2020), Jalil Salari noted.
The distributed fuel to power plants is not related to the current air pollution in the country, he indicated.
Power plants' average consumption is 220 million liters of fuel oil, about 12 million liters of the consumption fuel is mazut.
The new administration's priority is to supply fuel and gasoline to domestic needs first, then export the extra fuel oil.
There were proposals for energy export such as a mechanism for fuel and energy swap with neighboring countries.
