The world’s proven natural gas reserves dropped from 205.125 trillion cubic meters in 2019 to 201.440 trillion cubic meters in 2020, showing a 1.79 percent decrease year-on-year, Trend reports with reference to the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF).
The dynamics of world’s proven natural gas reserves is as follows: 200.720 trillion cubic meters in 2011, 200.512 trillion cubic meters in 2012, 200.988 trillion cubic meters in 2013, 201.221 trillion cubic meters in 2014, 200.632 trillion cubic meters in 2015, 202.114 trillion cubic meters in 2016, 204.313 trillion cubic meters in 2017 and 204.609 trillion cubic meters in 2018.
The share of GECF countries in the total volume of global proven gas reserves rose from 69 percent in 2019 to 71 percent in 2020. GECF proven gas reserves stood at 142.823 trillion cubic meters in 2020, as compared to 140.519 trillion cubic meters in 2019.
The dynamics of GECF proven natural gas reserves is as follows: 131.513 trillion cubic meters in 2011, 134.255 trillion cubic meters in 2012, 140.556 trillion cubic meters in 2013, 141.378 trillion cubic meters in 2014, 141.590 trillion cubic meters in 2015, 142.778 trillion cubic meters in 2016, 141.793 trillion cubic meters in 2017 and 140.905 trillion cubic meters in 2018.
