BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 12. Azerbaijan exported 9 million tons of oil in the first four months of 2022, as compared to 9.5 million tons in the same period in 2021, the country’s energy minister Parviz Shahbazov wrote on Twitter, Trend reports.

As such, the country’s oil exports dropped by 5.26 percent year-on-year.

Oil production in Azerbaijan stood at 11.1 million tons from January through April 2022, versus 11.5 million tons in the first four months of 2021, showing almost 3.5 percent decrease year-on-year.

There are three main oil pipelines transporting oil from Azerbaijan to its neighbours and on to world markets: Baku-Novorossiysk Pipeline, Baku-Supsa Pipeline and Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) Pipeline.

In addition, railway lines traversing the length of Azerbaijan are also used to convey oil to the Batumi and Kulevi terminals located on the Black Sea along the coast of Georgia.
