Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr S.Аliyev / Natig Aliyev, the Azerbaijani Minister for Industry and Energy, informed 28 March that there is no necessity to re-distribute Shah Deniz gas between Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey.
"Once Turkey cannot receive the gas, then Azerbaijan can utilize it," the Minister noted.
Azerbaijan can reconsider the possibility of increasing gas supplies to Georgia from the Shah Deniz field. However, it will be sold at the same price that was offered to Turkey. The price for the Shah Deniz gas Turkey makes up $80-$120 per 1,000 cu m, while the price for Georgia comprises $63 per 1,000 cu m.
