Azerbaijan reveals volumes of lending to economic spheres for 11M2020

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 26

The largest share of loans in Azerbaijan fell on the household sector, amounting to 46 percent as of early December 2020, Trend reports citing the Central Bank's statistical bulletin.

The volume of loans in the household sector decreased by 0.8 percent or 57.3 million manat ($33.7 million) compared to the same period last year, amounting to 6.75 billion manat ($3.97 billion), said the report.

"The volume of loans in trade and services as of December 1, 2020, increased by 10.9 percent or 255.1 million manat ($150 million) compared to December 1, 2019, reaching 2.6 billion manat ($1.53 billion). The share of the total volume of credit investments in this sector amounted to 17.7 percent," the bulletin said.

"At the same time, the volume of loans in the field of transport and communications amounted to 857.9 million manat ($504.6 million), which is equal to 5.8 percent of the total volume of loans in the real sector. Over the year, this figure decreased by 349.9 million manat ($205.8 million). In the field of industry and production, on an annualized basis, there was an increase in lending by 451.2 million manat ($265.4 million), and as of December 1 of this year, lending to this sector made up 1.38 billion manat ($811.7 million)," said the report.
