BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 7. The cumulative sum of non-cash transactions in Turkmenistan within the 'Digital Commerce' system from January through September 2023 reached 699.53 million Turkmen manat, equivalent to $199.66 million, Trend reports.
According to the Central Bank of Turkmenistan, during this specific timeframe, these statistics reflect an increase of 82.8 percent compared to the corresponding data from the initial 9 months of the previous year, which stood at 382.65 million Turkmen manat or $109.22 million.
During the specified period, the total amount of payments through the 'Mobile Bank' system amounted to 11.64 million Turkmen manat ($3.32 million), and through the 'Internet Bank' system - 1.42 Turkmen manat ($410,000).
Furthermore, in the specified month, the total non-cash turnover through the 'Halkbank terminal' system amounted to 17.71 million Turkmen manats ($5.05 million).
Turkmenistan's financial sector is experiencing sustained growth. In particular, mobile applications are being introduced to facilitate payments for various services and products, electronic transactions are increasing in volume, and the settlement of goods and services is being streamlined through banking terminals.
