BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 10. Alternative and renewable energy sources account for 55 percent of the total electricity generation from January through August 2024, Nakhchivan's State Energy Service told Trend.
Around 45 percent of the electricity juice from January through August 2024 was cooked up by thermal power plants, while hydroelectric power plants made a splash with 42 percent. The sun chipped in with 13 percent from solar power plants, and all of it was pumped into the power grid.
The share of electricity generated from alternative and renewable energy sources in Nakhchivan shot up by almost 20 percent compared to the corresponding period of last year.
