Technical problems that occurred in the network of the Baku Telephone Communications of the Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry paralyzed activities of most ATMs in Baku, AzeriCard Processing Center told Trend.

"The operator promised to resolve this issue in the near future," Azericard reported.
Technical Director at the Baku Telephone Communications Rasul Gurbanov told Trend that he has no information about this. He said the company's network lacks any problems.

The number of ATMs in Azerbaijan hit 2,002 as of Aug.1, 2011. The figure is more by 17 units compared to July 1 (1,985 ATMs) and by193 units - Aug.1, 2010 (1,809).

Of them 1,112 ATMs fell to Baku and 890 - Azerbaijan's regions.

AzeriCard is completely owned by the International Bank of Azerbaijan. It serves to 30 banks in Azerbaijan and abroad, of which 28 are members of the international payment systems. Some 44 banks operate in Azerbaijan .
